By Dan Taylor
Learn about the four activity types and when to use each one.
LiftTracker supports four activity types for different exercises:
1. Weight
- Use for: Exercises with weights (dumbbells, barbells, machines)
- Tracks: Weight amount, sets, reps
- Units: kg, lbs, stone
- Examples: Bench Press, Squats, Bicep Curls
- How to log: Enter weight per set, number of sets and reps
2. Reps Only
- Use for: Bodyweight exercises without added weight
- Tracks: Number of repetitions, sets
- Examples: Push-ups, Pull-ups, Sit-ups
- How to log: Enter total reps or reps per set
3. Distance
- Use for: Cardio or distance-based exercises
- Tracks: Distance covered
- Units: miles, km, meters, yards
- Examples: Running, Cycling, Rowing
- How to log: Enter distance and optionally duration
4. Duration
- Use for: Time-based exercises
- Tracks: Time spent
- Units: seconds, minutes, hours
- Examples: Planks, Wall sits, Stretching
- How to log: Enter duration in your preferred unit
Pro Tip: You can mix different activity types in the same workout! For example, start with weight training then add a 10-minute cardio session.
